Congratulations to the New Parent/s! -- how old are you?

It's always a mix of feeling when people learn they're about to become new parents. Whether you're a couple or a single parent, it's always a mix of Joy and Anxiety.
There's joy in knowing a bundle of joy is about to come having children in your home is always a source of constant peace and joy.
There's also anxiety, especially for single parents about to raise a child alone. New parents get the same feeling, not sure what to do next and figuring out what's best for their child.
This site or blog is all about my thoughts as well as other people's on being or becoming parents or knowing someone about to become new parents. Maybe even their own experience with their parents -- not everyone's a parent but everyone has one for sure.
Feel free to share your thoughts on the topics I'll be posting soon... I'd like to start on this one:
Does being a parent have to be at a certain age?
I became a parent at the age of 23, not too early, not too old either. I know people look with raised eyebrows at young ladies becoming parents as early as 15 or 16. In fact, this is considered a problem in most countries -- teenage pregnancies.
In other cultures on the other hand, pregnancy at this age is very acceptable, it's actually normal for some cultures..
I remember finding out a grandmother or maybe my husband's grandmother was pregnant at age 16, and it wasn't a big deal really. Then when her daughter (my mother inlaw i think) didn't have a child yet at age 20, she was almost rushing her to have a baby!
Weird, but honestly, being a parent has NOTHING to do with age. It has to do with knowing your responsibility with the child you bear.
Your thoughts?
