Kids Idolizing

No, I'm not talking about the ever sensational singing contest judged by the dawg, the dazed and the harsh (but true). I'm talking about children and the people they idolize.
We went to a house blessing of an Aunt over the weekend and the whole family -- err i mean clan -- was there. Almost all my aunts, uncles, cousins and my little nieces and nephews. One of my nephews is three years older than my son and he's become sort of my son's "idol". He follows him around like his tail, he does everything my nephew does from laughing, jumping, eating and whatever else he does.
My nephew's not liking it, especially since he's trying to look "cool" when we're around and he's naturally a snob-ish kind of kid. They looked very much alike too so my nephew's really not liking it.
On top of that, my little niece seems to be idolizing my son! Now my nephew's hating it even more because now they start looking like a train arranged from tallest to smallest! It's absolutely cute and we know we need not worry about anything wrong they may learn from each other because we, the parents, pretty much have the same values -- heck we're cousins and we're pretty close to each other.
It's a blast watching them look like some sort of a relay game, one trick from oldest to youngest, tallest to smallest. The two young ones are having a blast, it's only the oldest (who's about 7 years old) who's getting more and more annoyed, especially since he's getting to that age where he wants to do some "little adult" stuff
I know some parents worry when their children start idolizing older kids, and I'm just glad my son is idolizing a relative whose values I know and am familiar with. I guess, from a parent to other parents, when they're in their formative years (age 1-7), as much as possible, make him "hang-out" with children you know, relatives most of the time, or your bestfriend's kids. It feels good knowing you can leave your kid with other kids not worrying about what words your kid would've known by the time you come back.
